I’m currently in creation with choreographer and dancer Quaba Ernest on Huis Clos, a dance-theater work inspired by Jean-Paul Sartre’s No Exit and Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot. The piece unfolds like a surreal hotel mystery—bodies meeting, lingering, and becoming entangled in a room suspended between arrival and departure.
We’ve been developing the work through movement research, text, and improvisation, exploring themes of confinement, dependency, and the cyclical nature of human connection. Our first public showing will take place November 21–22 at BAAD! Bronx, marking the beginning of what we hope will be a continuing evolution of this piece through future residencies and performances.
